Facebook Advertisement for Classic Holiness Sermons

Recently I ran this ad on Facebook for Classic Holiness Sermons. This was really an experiment for me. I had a $50 ad credit to use and thought I would put it to good use and see how many people I could bring to the site by advertising it.

My budget was only $5 a day because I did not want to exceed my $50 credit. As you can see in the chart below there was a couple of days when the ad did not run. This had something to do with the way I had it set up and I had to tweak it and run it again. In total I have actually only used $45 of my $50 credit.

The ad was displayed 293,074 times. It was clicked on 122 times and their clicks lead them to the website where they could hear the message of Full Salvation. In the end it cost me about $.37 per person to get the 122 people to the site. Plus, think about the 293,074 people who had the chance they otherwise might not have had! to hear holiness preaching! Not a bad investment in my book! Now if only I had money to do this all of the time…

The actual number of visitors to the website appears to have increased by about 2,000 visitors over the previous 20 days in which the ad did not run. This increase may or may not have anything to with the ad though. I also created a Facebook Fan site etc.

Soon I am going to be purchasing a domain name and webspace for my site Classic Holiness Sermons. I will be designing a new layout and I hope to really create a nice useful site which will eventually hold hundreds of great conservative holiness sermons from preachers of the past and present.

Here's where I need your help. I want your money. Just kidding. Actually I need some suggestions for a site name. I'm not completely sold on "Classic Holiness Sermons" and I'm afraid the domain name might be a little lengthy (ie. www.classicholinesssermons.com)

If you have a suggestion for a name and/or domain name for the site just leave a comment. Eventually I'll collect the best suggestions and will have a poll on my blog and will probably put it up on the myholiness.com site and the winning name from the poll is what I will purchase for the domain.

'Bionic’ Contact Lens Could Let You Check E-Mail, Play Games, Monitor Blood Sugar

At least I won't have to use my cell phone to check my email while driving anymore. I can just read my email while driving down the road via my 'bionic' eye! That's safe!

If only...

...this website would have existed when I was in school. Then I'm sure I could have got much better grades on problems like this one below... ;-)

Grandcentral

Grandcentral is what looks like a really cool service that Google has purchased and is putting out. Basically it enables you to have one phone number to give to people and you can set what phone you want that persons call to be answered on. For instance, I give you my Grandcentral provided phone number and you call it. I set up if I want your call to come to my cell phone or my house phone or both. Also, you never have to give out your real phone numbers. The GS number is all that you need to give out. Then you can take peoples calls at whatever phone you choose. There are a ton of other features available as well. Check out the site to learn more.

This service is still in the closed beta stage so you have to be selected to receive a beta invitation. However, I have 10 beta invites which I can give out. I'll give out my invites to the first 10 people who leave a comment and their email address. Let me know if you want one - this looks to be a really cool service!

Y2K7?

Apparently the world is going to shut down - just like it did in the year 2000...

Good News!

Just when I was about to take the old computer out in the yard and use it for target practice, the light broke through the clouds and my old computer is up and running again. Unfortunately I did lose a bunch of stuff, but at least it's working!

Basically, Windows had to be reinstalled which means that I lost all of my programs and tons of data...hopefully I'll be able to restore some of it...

This is really making my head explode!!

The reason for the scarceness of posts recently is because I was gone for a week over Thanksgiving and now since I have returned home, my computer has been wiped out. It's a long story, but unfortunately it appears that I have lost my entire computer. I may be able to save some of my files, but by in large it looks like I can bury my computer out in the yard because it's dead. This has been a frustrating couple of days as I have been trying to revive the dead beast.

It would have been nice if I would have been able to purchase one of those computers from Best Buy that I stood in line for two hours in the freezing cold on Black Friday trying to purchase! Unfortunately they were sold out by time I got in the store!! Agghhhh!!!!!!
