I know you're probably bored to death with all of my Huckabee videos and you probably think I need to change my blog's name to "A Young Pastor's Politics" but oh well...
Mike Huckabee is such a natural communicator. He was recently named the best communicator of 2007. After 8 years of George W. Bush, who I think has been a great President whose greatest weakness has been communication, I think that Huckabee would be such a tremendous help to the Republican party getting back it's support with a lot of traditionally conservative people who have begun to turn away from the Republican partly due to the inability of Bush to express the reason why were in Iraq etc.
Anyways, in the most recent debate Huckabee was attacked as usual but as usual his responses were incredible as the video below illustrates well:
Enjoy the blog!
ReplyDeleteWhat's not to like about Huckabee if you're a Christian?
He's thorough, Biblical, articulate, and unashamedly Christian! He'd make a good Christian for that reason alone!
Hmmm....seems to me that I recall William Clinton being an excellent communicator, but for some reason, I don't remember that being enough to sway many conservatives in his direction. Oh, well....I guess times change.
ReplyDeleteGood grief Mowery...do you always have to be a dissenting voice on my blog. :-) j/k
ReplyDeleteI never said that anyone should vote for Huckabee because he is a good communicator, I just said that I like the fact that he's a good communicator and that if he's elected he would be a help to the Republican party due to his communication skills.
I was a huge George W. supporter when he was running and he is not a good communicator...
Anyways, it was "nice" to see a comment from you - it had been awhile. :-)
I only wish Mike did more than communicate, Unfortunately he is long on style and short on substance. I could really get behind him if only he was a conservative. Oh well the truth of the matter, anyone on the Republican side is far better than what the dems have put up. So While Mike is not my first choice if he gets the nod I wull certainly vote for him.
ReplyDeleteLOL! What can I say? I'm not Democrat; I'm not Republican. I just find so much stuff on all sides that needs a good voice of reason. As for being dissenting....if you were a liberal and used the same "argument" for your candidate I would have combated that as well. I'm not anti-anyone or pro-anyone....I just don't have any faith in politics. ;-)
ReplyDeletewhat would Moses do?
ReplyDeleteMoses would just wipe out all opposing leaders and established a religious state, which is far better than today's politics when you consider the fact that the governing authority was God Himself. ;-)
ReplyDeleteA good talker doesn't always have sound policies. The problem is that with a down turning economy, Huckabee scares economic conservatives. He talks about firing the 150,000 IRS employees in one swipe. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of small businesses providing tax services.
ReplyDeleteThe USA only created 43,000 jobs in November of 2007. Huckabee should tell people about the 23% consumption tax on everything you buy. That includes healthcare. Can you afford a 23% increase in your healthcare? Unfortunately, economists estimate the “Fair Tax” would need to be closer to 50% in order to remain revenue neutral.
His reason for supporting the so called “Fair” tax is that it would bring the “bad folks” into the system. The issue there is that the “bad folks” are a tiny percentage of the US population and the middle class will actually pick up the burden.
Look, I am a student with student loans, three kids and a wife, I pay an effective tax rate of 7%. Huckabee would give me a 15% tax increase - I cannot afford that.
Just imagine the black market that will kick up in the US of A.
A vote for Huckabee is a vote to put 150,000 people out of jobs right off the bat. That’s a big NO for me.
I must say as a Christian I am concerned with Mike has communicated lately. Signing the "no amenesty" pledge that starts out saying that the 12 million illegal immigrants must be "sent home." What happened to forgiveness and the love and mercy of Christ?
ReplyDeleteMike lost my vote with this pledge.
