Signing the "no amenesty" pledge that starts out saying that the 12 million illegal immigrants must be "sent home." What happened to forgiveness and the love and mercy of Christ?

Mike lost my vote with this pledge.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00259391386569121292noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17041767.post-19276279775972981132008-01-18T00:53:00.000-06:002008-01-18T00:53:00.000-06:00A good talker doesn't always have sound policies. ...A good talker doesn't always have sound policies. The problem is that with a down turning economy, Huckabee scares economic conservatives. He talks about firing the 150,000 IRS employees in one swipe. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of small businesses providing tax services.

The USA only created 43,000 jobs in November of 2007. Huckabee should tell people about the 23% consumption tax on everything you buy. That includes healthcare. Can you afford a 23% increase in your healthcare? Unfortunately, economists estimate the “Fair Tax” would need to be closer to 50% in order to remain revenue neutral.

His reason for supporting the so called “Fair” tax is that it would bring the “bad folks” into the system. The issue there is that the “bad folks” are a tiny percentage of the US population and the middle class will actually pick up the burden.

Look, I am a student with student loans, three kids and a wife, I pay an effective tax rate of 7%. Huckabee would give me a 15% tax increase - I cannot afford that.

Just imagine the black market that will kick up in the US of A.
A vote for Huckabee is a vote to put 150,000 people out of jobs right off the bat. That’s a big NO for me.Fleeting_Thoughtshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03443223126526616704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17041767.post-78685400605525424642008-01-15T06:39:00.000-06:002008-01-15T06:39:00.000-06:00Moses would just wipe out all opposing leaders and...Moses would just wipe out all opposing leaders and established a religious state, which is far better than today's politics when you consider the fact that the governing authority was God Himself. ;-)Allen Moweryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01737511581344197528noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17041767.post-54337276555976828232008-01-14T17:20:00.000-06:002008-01-14T17:20:00.000-06:00what would Moses do?what would Moses do?timhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06472463740180439702noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17041767.post-75116813409896513122008-01-14T13:57:00.000-06:002008-01-14T13:57:00.000-06:00LOL! As for being dissenting....if you were a liberal and used the same "argument" for your candidate I would have combated that as well. I'm not anti-anyone or pro-anyone....I just don't have any faith in politics. ;-)Allen Moweryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01737511581344197528noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17041767.post-70373576842524724062008-01-14T09:29:00.000-06:002008-01-14T09:29:00.000-06:00I only wish Mike did more than communicate, Unfort...I only wish Mike did more than communicate, Unfortunately he is long on style and short on substance. I could really get behind him if only he was a conservative. Oh well the truth of the matter, anyone on the Republican side is far better than what the dems have put up. So While Mike is not my first choice if he gets the nod I wull certainly vote for him.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01590482109529396303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17041767.post-35259126292792453192008-01-14T07:52:00.000-06:002008-01-14T07:52:00.000-06:00Good grief Mowery...do you always have to be a dis...Good grief Mowery...do you always have to be a dissenting voice on my blog. :-) j/k

I never said that anyone should vote for Huckabee because he is a good communicator, I just said that I like the fact that he's a good communicator and that if he's elected he would be a help to the Republican party due to his communication skills.

I was a huge George W. supporter when he was running and he is not a good communicator...

Anyways, it was "nice" to see a comment from you - it had been awhile. :-)Jon Earlshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11143567069140769859noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17041767.post-24987216340555906152008-01-14T06:22:00.000-06:002008-01-14T06:22:00.000-06:00Hmmm....seems to me that I recall William Clinton ...Hmmm....seems to me that I recall William Clinton being an excellent communicator, but for some reason, I don't remember that being enough to sway many conservatives in his direction.
