April 15

April 15 is known for a lot of things - mostly for being the dreaded "Tax Day." But on April 15, 1947 something else happened. I'm a huge baseball fan (go Braves!) and on April 15, 1947 Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in baseball becoming the first black man to play in the Major Leagues. He went on to have a stellar career and is in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Today ever player in the MLB will be wearing #42 on their jerseys in honor of Jackie Robinson.

Thinking about all of this this morning has got me to thinking...if baseball was integrated in 1947 I wonder when the majority of the church world is going to catch up? Sunday mornings are the most segrated time of the week and I believe it's time for that to end! I don't believe in "white churches" or "black churches." I believe in the Church - where everyone is welcomed and we all come together to worship Christ together. So let's come together and just think if we start today we'll only be 63 years behind Major League Baseball!
