Meme

I was tagged to do a "Meme" by Chris Hilling. The rules are as follows:
  1. Pick up the nearest book of 123 pages or more. No cheating!
  2. Find Page 123.
  3. Read the first 5 sentences.
  4. Post the next 3 sentences.
  5. Tag 5 people.
I have a bunch of books on my desk so I picked up "Historical Drift" by Arnold Cook. The three sentences are as follows:

"Corporate North America loves numbers and bigness. Numbers became the bottom line in late 20th-century church success. A couple of decades of pastors have paid a high price both in their marriages and ministries."

How true those three sentences are!

  1. Historical Drift is a good book ... thanks for sharing.

  2. Those words are very true. Looking solely at numbers is a trap into which many can fall.

Just for fun, I tried the same thing. The closest book was a Chemistry CLEP preparation book. Unfortunately, page 123 was a table, not neat sentences. But, counting the headers as the first "sentence" what I got were entries for Ketone, Carboxylic acid, and Ester. :-D I think your sentences were quite a bit more useful and relevant
