John Piper on Modesty

In this video excerpt of a recent message by John Piper, author of "Desiring God" etc., he preaches on the father's role in his daughter's modesty.

It's always interesting to me when I hear someone who is not from the conservative holiness movement (as I am) preach on modesty. This has always been one of the issues that we have held to. However, I'm afraid we have reached two extremes in our movement: those who go off the "deep end" and preach on all kinds of crazy stuff, and those who don't ever mention these issues any more.

As in all things, we need balance. May God help more of us preachers to preach on this principles from the Bible. Not our own opinions, but the principles of the Word!

This is only a short video, so check it out.

  1. It's hard to find an appropriate balance between the two extremes. Sometimes I'm relieved to be the mother of boys...
