I want to be relevant...

...but probably not in the way which you're thinking. Most Pastor's today seek to be relevant by preaching cool sermons about the latest movie or about having 30 day sex challenges. They do everything in attempt to appear cool in the eyes of this world.

That's not how I want to be relevant. I think the only way to truly be relevant is to preach from the timeless Book which is always relevant - the Bible. Not by trying to mimic the world through silly (and sacrilegious at times) sermons about whatever the current itch is. I think this cartoon captures this sentiment well:

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Now that's relevant!
