I am very concerned with the effect that the Emergent Church is having on Christianity today. I believe the Emergent Church is just a repacking of an old lie.
I'm amazed at how popular this movement is becoming - even among those of the "holiness" movement and our "parent" churches (i.e. Wesleyan, Nazarene, etc.)
This movement is attempting to "keep" Jesus and throw out Christianity.

Doug Pagitt
and Rick Warren!!
Outside of the various evangelical Protestant sects the so-called "Emergent Church" has zero effect. The problem only seems big to evangelical Protestants because they feel they are the be-all, end-all of Christianity and that sum total of their various un-orthodox confessions somehow constitute the Church with a capital "C."
