Yesterday and today I have been very busy doing some very important
things. While many of my fellow Bible Methodist pastor's were at
General Conference settling all of the important issues, I was doing
some important things as well...I was deeply involved in ministry!
My wife and I went with a couple from my church (ministry
:-) to Six Flags over Georgia. I've got to admit, I love amusement
parks, and I love roller coasters! This was my first time to this
amusement park and I was impressed. I've been to a lot of parks, but I
think this is my new favorite.
Goliath
is the newest coaster at Six Flags over Georgia, and as the name
implies, this coaster is huge! This is an awesome coaster!! Probably my
favorite coaster ever, except for maybe the Millennium Force at Cedar
Point.
Ninja - this coaster was good, but a little rough.
Georgia Scorcher - this is a standup coaster - awesome!
Superman
- since I've discovered that I am Superman :-) (see previous post) I
was looking forward to riding my ride. As you can see from the second
picture on this ride you lay on you chest and stomach. I loved this
ride. The only bad thing about this ride was my wife passed out several
times at the end and couldn't breathe. Thankfully she survived! :-)
Mindbender
- another awesome roller coaster. This one takes you through trees etc.
Another one of my favorite coasters from any park.
Batman - this one was good too.
Great American Scream Machine - ride this one if you want to have back surgery afterwards.
Cyclone - another wooden coaster which is all right if you have good insurance that covers back operations!
There
was several other roller coasters which we did not have time to ride
and lots of other rides. My wife and I have been to and love Wild Adventures,
an amusement park in South Georgia, because you very rarely never have
to wait in line. We had never gone to Six Flags (which is in Atlanta)
because we had always figured you would have to wait in line forever to
ride the coasters. I think the longest we waited yesterday was approx.
30 minutes. Most of the rides had only a short wait and Atlanta Fest (a
"Christian" music fest) was taking place at Six Flags while we were
there - we didn't even know it was taking place prior to going.
Anyways,
we had a great time! I have been to Knoebles amusement park in PA,
Cedar Point in Ohio, Walt Disney World and Universal Studios in
Orlando, Dollywood in Gatlinburg TN, as well as Wild Adventures in
Valdosta Georgia (I can't remember if I've been to any others). I could
care less to ever go back to Universal Studies or Walt Disney World.
Cedar Point probably has the best coasters, but the wait took forever
when I was there. All in all, I think Six Flags over Georgia is my new
favorite park.
Today,
we went to the new Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta which is now the world's
largest aquarium. I've been to some other aquarium's, but this one is
definitely the best!
Glad to see your doing such important ministry. I really appreciate how you are so willing to take on the difficult church jobs that none of us want to tackle. :-)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I WAS going to General Conference, but then I had to come back for a funeral at our church.
