Taxes and illegal immigration

As I'm sure you all figured out by now, I in no way believe that someone should cheat on their taxes, or that we should forgive tax cheaters. Glenn Beck on his radio broadcast brought up this whole idea. Some people would be outraged by just simply forgiving tax cheaters (unless they are one), however they would say let's just grant amnesty to all of the illegal aliens who have broken our laws by entering the country illegally. Now, I am not one who says that we should just send everyone back - I'm not sure if this is the answer or not...

Anyways, I thought this whole idea of comparing tax amnesty and illegal's amnesty was interesting.

  1. Hi Jon... and let's even get illegals on the tax roll :-)

I wanted to make sure you know how I view you and Joel (and since Drury's blog is getting rather crowded, I thought I'd come straight to you...)

I consider you and people like my nephew at Hobe Sound (Jason Walker, if you would perhaps know him) too young to include among those I've referred to as schismatic. In my mind you are "strict" rather than "legalistic." You manifest a loving and kind heart. And while your understanding logically implies you are on the right path and others are not, you do not bear that understanding with an attitude of condescension or intrinsic superiority.

I think you know the type of person to whom I referred... but I don't consider you one of them.
