Perhaps you are wondering why I am sharing such disgusting photos on my blog. These pictures were taken today as the Shiite Muslims observed Ashoura day. While viewing these photos I could not help but think several things:First of all, it is sad the depths that people go in sin and in their false religion. It is sad what this religion is doing to the children. It is sad that these people think they can somehow earn their salvation through these and other horrible acts. It is scary what these people will do to themselves and others on behalf of their religion. It is scary that these children are being brought up in this religion - this is all they know. It is scary that nations cower to this religion and allow it to continue to spread its hate and terror. It is scary that many in our nation want to somehow "negoiate" with these people who will not stop until they take over the world.
When I was a boy I could not envision the stories in the Bible that told of people worshipping false gods and cutting themselves and even offering human sacrifice. Now, we see what this looks like in living color. In our "progressive" society we have not "progressed" at all. Sin will always be sin. May God give us courage to stand up in this day in which we live. May He help us to share the story of God's love with our world. Thank God that Jesus took our punishment upon the cross so that we don't have to do terrible things like these in order to earn our salvation!
